Mom, Look, No Hands (978-960-653-885-8)
"Mom, look, no hands!" cried the little girl and fell off the bike. He rose again and fell again. And again and again. Until he threw away the spare wheels and continued on his way. That's how I lived. With scraped knees I walked, I grew, I mourned my loved ones, I fell in love, I laughed a lot, I loved a lot, I worked hard, I fought my demons for years.
The losses of my childhood, my father's early death, my mother's imprisonment in the Junta, the cries and traumas of my childhood led me to depression, sleepless nights and sleeping pills.
This book unfolds the dark pages behind a seemingly bright life. Many times I started and as many times I stopped writing it. Either I will tell all or nothing – I decided. What I hid, what I was afraid of, what I was ashamed of, I will confess it all.
"Mom, look, no hands!" This is how I continue today on my washed bike. And wherever it takes me... I don't know if you're holding a good book or a bad book. I only know that this confession is the bravest thing I have ever done in my insignificant life.
