The Book: Rudy the deer wants to date the beautiful doe, but is hesitant to tell her. When the woodpecker learns this, he encourages his friend to make up his mind and polishes his magnificent horns with plantain leaves. Rudy runs to meet the doe, but the polished antlers get tangled in the branches of a gorse. When it manages to break free, the deer is embarrassed that it looks like a mobile flower shop and wants to turn back. But he won't do it in the end, because the turtle reveals a big secret to him. What was that? And how on earth did Rudy's problem get solved?
The Series: In order for children to have healthy social lives based on effective relationships, they need to cultivate empathy, that is, the ability to put themselves in the shoes of others, to understand and feel things in the same way that another person experiences them. This need is met by the illustrated books of this series, which promote emotional intelligence. With the approach proposed for parents and teachers, they attempt to introduce children to seeing the world through the eyes of others, after first learning to recognize and manage their own emotions.
