The book: Jimmy the gorilla is very lazy. He is too tired to move his little finger. One day Fogo, an orphaned monkey, appears in the jungle. He is looking for shelter, care and love. But none of the gorilla families can take it home. Fogo bursts into tears and feels hopeless, until "I'll take care of you!" Jimmy says firmly. Everyone then bursts into laughter, because they know how stupid he is. And yet... as time passes, Jimmy proves to be a worthy father to the fine family he has created. But what was it that changed him so much?
The Series: In order for children to have healthy social lives based on effective relationships, they need to cultivate empathy, that is, the ability to put themselves in the shoes of others, to understand and feel things in the same way that another person experiences them. This need is met by the illustrated books of this series, which promote emotional intelligence. With the approach proposed for parents and teachers, they attempt to introduce children to seeing the world through the eyes of others, after first learning to recognize and manage their own emotions.
